Functional Patterns® Practitioner · HBS Level I · Lacrosse Athlete & Coach · Women’s Health

Dalaina is a Functional Patterns Practitioner at Kinetic Blueprint with a background as a competitive lacrosse player, coach, and referee.

She began practicing the Functional Patterns methodology in 2021 after years of dealing with chronic pain and repetitive injuries that traditional approaches failed to resolve. Through consistent application, she was able to reverse long-standing issues and develop a more structured, sustainable approach to training.

She now applies a biomechanics-based system to help clients improve posture, restore movement efficiency, and build resilience through intentional training.

“There’s no
cookie-cutter
exercise—
there’s CONSISTENT
path: learn to
move better.”

A Background in Athletics & Coaching

Dalaina grew up as a competitive lacrosse athlete and remained heavily involved in the sport as both a coach and referee. Through her experience working with athletes, she developed an early interest in helping others improve performance and reduce injury.

Despite her background in fitness, she found that common approaches—ranging from stretching and yoga to chiropractic care and traditional weightlifting—did not provide lasting solutions for the chronic pain she experienced or the repetitive injuries she saw in others.

“I shifted from artificial, linear training to grounded, dynamic, multi-planar movement—respecting the sport I love.”

Finding a More Effective System

This led her to explore Functional Patterns, where concepts like fascia, tensegrity, and biomechanics offered a more complete framework for understanding the body.

Changing the way she trained helped her resolve over a decade of chronic pain and unexplained injuries. Within her first year of training, she pursued certification in Austin, TX under Benjamin Merworth and later relocated from San Diego to join the Kinetic Blueprint team.

A Focus on Women’s Health & Performance

Dalaina has since developed a strong interest in women’s health, including pressure management, pelvic floor dynamics, and athletic performance.

She sees significant value in applying the Functional Patterns methodology to support long-term health, as well as preparation for pregnancy and childbirth through improved pressure dynamics and structural integrity.

Applying Functional Patterns

At Kinetic Blueprint, Dalaina focuses on helping clients build sustainable movement patterns through structured training.

Her approach is centered on developing resilience, improving body awareness, and creating long-term solutions that allow clients to move more efficiently and with less pain.

“Learn to
move better—
or stay stuck
managing symptoms.”
